Happy to share our last collaborative paper, recently published in Nanotoxicology journal, addressing the cytotoxic and genotoxic effects of different amorphous silica nanomaterials on rat alveolar epithelial cells as a predictive model for pulmonary toxicity in vivo.
The work showed the potential of several amorphous silica nanomaterials to induced DNA damage, cell cycle alterations and viability decreases depending on their size and surface modification, and supported the usefulness of multiparametric approaches to improve the understanding on nanomaterial mechanisms of action and hazard prediction.
