Happy to share that several members of our research group attended the XXVIII Scientific Meeting organized by the Spanish Environmental Mutagenesis and Genomics Society (SEMA) from June 26-28 in Vila Real, Portugal.
Our PhD researchers Assia Touzani and Lucía Ramos presented the works “Biocompatibility of platinum nanoparticles: study in neuronal cells and Drosophila melanogaster” and “Analysis of cell cycle, apoptosis rate and DNA damage in neuronal cells exposed to differently charged gold nanoparticles”.
Our colleague from DICOMOSA group, Carlota Lema, presented our collaborative work “Association of genetic and oxidative stress biomarkers with physical and cognitive frailty in older adults”.
In addition, our group coordinator Vanessa Valdiglesias and our postdoctoral researcher Natalia Fernández were in charge of moderating two of the sessions, “DNA damage, repair and protection” and “Biomarkers and biological monitoring”, respectively.
It was a very enriching experience for all of us and we are already looking forward to next year’s event to reunite with everyone once again!!!
