Several NanoToxGen group members participate in the II Total Nanosafe International Conference 2024

Past November, 2024, several NanoToxGen group members attended the II TOTAL-NANOSAFE International Conference, held at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (Braga, Portugal).

Our predoctoral researchers, Lucía Ramos and Assia Touzani, performed two oral communications during the afternoon session. Lucía Ramos presented “In vitro evaluation of differently charged gold nanoparticles in neuronal cells: analysis of cell cycle, apoptosis and primary DNA damage”, whereas Assia Touzani presented the work “Assessing the Potential Toxic Effects of Platinum Nanoparticles Using Neuronal Cells and Drosophila melanogaster”.

Our external collaborator, Dr. Ana Teresa Reis, also presented the work “MixIng-Tox: investigating the combined effects of nanomaterials and potentially toxic elements in food products – discover the project and collaborate”, from the Mixin-Tox project coled by Dr. Reis and our coordinator Dr. Valdiglesias.

It was a pleasure to meet again our two external collaborators, Dr. Sónia Fraga and Dr. Reis, and several old friends and colleagues.
