We are very happy to announce the incorporation of a new NanoToxGen member, Dr. David Polo, who joined our group in January 2025 as Ramon y Cajal researcher.

Dr. Polo is a PhD researcher with several years of experience in the field of environmental virology. His previous research has focused on surveillance, diversity, transmission, and persistence of pathogenic viruses in aquatic environments. His integration into the group offers a unique opportunity to merge nanotoxicology and virology. In his new postdoctoral project, his research takes a ‘One Health’ approach, with a special emphasis on how viruses interact with other pollutants and the impact of these interactions on human and animal health. This research aligns with EU objectives to address emerging infectious viruses and other challenges such as climate change, water scarcity, and fecal pollution.
Welcome to the team!!
